Veterans Memorial Poker Run Tasmania
Remembering our fallen soldiers on Anzac Day is a biker tradition.
WE DREW our first card and started the Poker Run at 10.30 am as we departed for the Brighton Cenotaph for the 11 am service and laying of the wreath.
Then it was off to the Sorell RSL Club via Middle Tree and Finger Post Roads for the laying of wreath, drawing of our second card and some refreshments.
Soon it was on the bikes again and off to Primrose RSL Club for the laying of another wreath, drawing of our third card, some refreshments and lunch supplied by the RSL Club.
Back on the bikes again to the Horseshoe Inn, Cambridge, for the drawing of the fourth card, some refreshments and afternoon tea.
Finally we rode back to our clubhouse at Bridgewater where the final card was drawn and the band Atomic Rock was playing and the bbq was cooking up tea.
It was a very successful day with approx 85 bikes on the run and 101 registered for cards. Many thanks must go to Sorell and Primrose RSL Clubs and the Horseshoe Inn for their help and support on the day.
