Sunset Street Glide on ANZAC Hill in Western Australia

“With the 110 Screamin’ Eagle upgrade on-board… building speed was effortless,” said Brad.

BEING bike-less before a weekend and with some fantastic summer weather forecast plus a big charity ride coming up had me wondering how I could pull off enjoying them all at once. I mentioned my quandary to Tony at Perth Harley-Davidson and quick smart he’d tossed me the keys to their customised Street Glide and told me to bring it back “sometime next week…”

What a legend!

With the 110 Screamin’ Eagle upgrade on-board, and sporting the Number 3 of 400 custom H-D paint kits, building speed was effortless and the positive feeling through the HHI controls had me hurtling towards the coast in no time. And if you didn’t hear that sweet Kerker slip-on exhaust you certainly wouldn’t have missed the upgraded stereo pumping out the old-school rock!

Come ride day there was a huge turnout for the Ride for Ashleigh, being a combined effort of Perth Harley-Davidson and the Swan River HOG chapter. Really showing the level of support amongst the biker community, the proceeds were donated to aid the victims of road trauma.

After finishing the charity ride in Mindarie on the north coast of Perth, I pointed the 60-spoke 21-inch Ridewright wheel south and set off past the Hillarys boat harbour, a little slower past the active-wearing runners at Trigg, slower again past the Cottesloe sun-bakers, and finally on to Fremantle port to catch the sunset over the harbour from ANZAC Hill.

While there was little wind the Klockwerks windshield still made listening to the tunes easier, and tipping in to corners behind the 18-inch apes just topped it all off. Really what better way is there to enjoy a hot balmy summer evening than a night ride?

Thank you to Tony and Perth H-D for the loan of the bike which made my weekend.
