“I’ve never seen a full custom chopper in white so I decided that’s what we were going to do,” said Moey.
WAZZA: At Queen Street Customs, the paint work we do is individual; people want something different and that’s what we do. There are a lot of tricks that we’ve got in the shop that other people haven’t got; like we do the carbon-fibre and lots of other effects in the paint.
We’re not just a panel shop, we’re actually an engineering performance shop. If you come in and tell us that you want a bike built a certain way, we can do it; or you can bring anything into the shop, tell us what you want to spend, and we can tell you how we can go about it to make that happen. We do the lot: fabrication, customisation, trimming, insurance work, private work, scratches, anything.
MOEY: I love hot cars, bikes, whatever has wheels.
A mate imported this bike from America. I ended getting it off him and rebuilding the whole thing. The parts were already there; instead of buying accessory after accessory; I haven’t got the time to do that. I saw something with half the goodies on it so I completed it, which meant stripping it, painting it, new guards, a couple of new accessories. It was already registered; something like that you couldn’t get registered now.
It’s a pearl white paint. I wanted to try a different colour, a whole different bike, maybe a little bit angrier. I’ve never seen a full custom chopper in white so I decided that’s what we were going to do.

WAZZA: I think the big arse-end sets the bike off; it gives you a chance to see the back wheel and everything is pretty much open; and with the internal oil tank, you haven’t got a big oil tank sitting in front of your face. Everything’s stashed out of the way and it looks cleaner and a lot neater.
MOEY: When we were making the rear guard, we were heating it and bending it around, and I said, “Let’s try some different looks.” See how we made a little wing on the back. I find that pointy look in the back topped it off; I love it.
The seat was done in-house and I extended the handlebars a little bit. The front fender was remade and the petrol tank was remade. All the body parts of the bike have been re-fabricated.
WAZZA: It’s a 121 S&S, Baker box, 3D rims, PM brakes, custom design handlebars, PM hand and forward controls; it’s all top-of-the-line stuff. It’s got the latest model carby, and internal compression release instead of having the switches outside.
With the back bone sitting low, it’s a smooth ride.

When you’re doing the bikes, you can’t really see the look until it’s finished. You’ve got the bike sitting there in pieces and it’s hard to tell if it’s going to look good. You’ve got to wait until it’s finished before you can get the final touches on it too. Once it’s all together, you know it’s worth it.

Queens Street Melissa

I’M a Sydney girl, born and bred. I originally started modelling by doing promotional work; I’ve done that since I was 18. I’m 20 now and I’d really like to start doing more modelling jobs like this.
I’m a real chilled-out girl. I’m not like a party animal these days but I do love events like festivals. I’ve always been to car events and I love them. I have a lot of friends who have Harleys and other bikes and I have been on a lot of dirt bikes before so I’d definitely like to get my bike licence one day.
I’ve got a few tattoos—my parents names on my arm and some lips.
When I’m not modelling or doing promo stuff, I’m working as a shop assistant, or I am at the beach. In summer you can find me at Bondi pretty much every day.
I loved today. I had fun.
