Old No 7 Jack Daniel’s Springer Classic
OZBIKE—Jack hails from the central west of NSW. His Jack Daniel’s tribute bike, Old No 7, is a 2006 Heritage Springer Classic. Currently, it’s a Twin Cam fitted with Screamin’ Eagle heavy breather, cams and high flow mufflers.
Jack changes the look every now and then. The current set-up is getting ready for a two-up trip.
He’s been buying parts for the last three years. He figures it’s easier to have one bike and change the look than buying two bikes! So Jack’s ended up with three exhaust systems, three fuel tanks and a spare set of guards along the outgoing skull gear. He often strips it down as a single seater, pulls off the bags, screen, rack, and other junk, and fits up the shark-tails, a different tin set, for whole new look.
Old No. 7 is fitted with white walls, smooth rims, beach-bars, lots of chrome, and period extras to get the old school look.
A custom Fire Storm Air Horn rated at 128 decibels gets Skippys and idiots out of the road.
Harley Nostalgia Bar & Shield foot boards, pegs, shifters and brake pedal and highway pegs are all fitted, fender trims and leather mudflaps are all period look being that magic ’47/’48 model Pan model that rocked the world.
Old No. 7 is running the period driving lights with tined lenses and trim extensions on all lights and blinkers.
The motor is dressed in Old No. 7 parts sourced from all over world; the last part was a chrome derby cover from Spain.
The leatherwork—leg chaps, floor board fringe and lever tassels—was custom made from buffalo hide in the USA. Jack’s got some custom leather work coming being a tank bra and screen bag.
Jack is a Springer fan and that will always be the base for whatever he is playing with at the time.
Jack is planning to fit a Screamin’ Eagle big bore kit early next year when the bike comes off the road to have its next life. Jack has a complete set of tins ready to be custom painted in a new theme, a tribute to his second favourite drink—rum! The Bundy paint work will feature a famous Bear and his paws and should be a standout.
Old No. 7 is a daily rider and traveller and gets attention wherever it goes. It’s that Springer front-end that stands out, and old mates love to have a chat about their WLAs.
