Coffs Harbour Harley-Davidson Softail Build
“The bike has been sitting in the lounge as an ornament due to work commitments, and he rode the bike twice and clocked up a massive 800 km in two years,” said Frank.
DARREN of Gosford was impressed by a 2007 Harley-Davidson Softail Custom I built when it was featured in Ozbike magazine so he approached me and asked if I could help him build a similar one with a few personal touches. I was more than happy to help.
Darren asked about an increase of horsepower—the increase consisted of S&S heads, bigger throttle body with Wild Thing gear-drive cams, 103 high-comp forged pistons with some specialised added extras; and to perfect the horsepower increase, a custom map and tune on the in-house dyno.
The bike started to take shape with a 240 rear conversion, custom swing-arm, billet front-end, dual disc brakes with billet four-spot front and rear calipers to pull the thing up now with a massive horsepower increase.
With the custom fuel tank added, Ken at Skin by Finn added the specialised paint job for that complete unique finish.
The bike was completed to the full satisfaction of the owner.
Two years later, Darren calls. The bike has been sitting in the lounge as an ornament due to work commitments, and he rode the bike twice and clocked up a massive 800 km in two years. With much regret, the bike is too good to sit in the lounge and he asked if I could find it a new home.
It was with great pleasure I got to be involved with the photo-shoot of this stand-out bike. That’s Adam, by the way, in his magazine debut.
