Big Red Reveal at Cooktown
BIG Red, a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide Ultra Classic, was the star of the show when the old-school Dag Pub on the D’Aguilar Highway hosted the Cooktown Crusaders AGM and final fundraiser for Autism Queensland. The Cooktown Crusaders are three crazy fishermen (Peter ‘Mr Heckle’ Sheppard, Les ‘Mr Leso’ Wildman and Mark ‘Mr Chilli’ Chillcott) who each year since 2014 have organised an epic 4572 km road trip from Brisbane to Cooktown to raise funds and awareness for Autism Queensland.
The proud owner of Big Red, Mr Heckle, said the bike had just been rebuilt with a custom airbrushing job by Lucky Caleb Airbrush & Custom Paint.
“Caleb worked his magic with the airbrush to create a theme based on the Hellboy movie, hence the name Big Red. Jason from JB Tyre and Auto put the bike back together after the paint.
“The AGM was a family friendly event and fundraiser including cars and bikes on show for the public, live music as well as monster raffles. Raffle prizes included a signed and framed 2017 Canberra Raiders NRL jersey and a 14 day family pass to Dreamworld, Sea World and Movie World.
All proceeds from the event went to Autism Queensland, the state’s longest serving and most experienced provider of services to people living with autism and their families.
