Auction Day Harley-Davidson Breakout
MY mate bought this Harley-Davidson Breakout from Perth Harley-Davidson for $40,000, had it a month then lost his job on the mines. He couldn’t afford the payments so it was repossessed. With only 1000 km on it and in brand new condition, I thought it would go to auction and fetch big $$, more than I could ever afford. The auction day came and I had a maximum of $26,000 and was lucky enough to get it for nearly exactly that.
Most the mods I have done myself either in my garage or at my mates. I will try and list a few:
Bassani exhaust, Screamin’ Eagle intake, Turbine wheels in gloss black, custom-made upper fork tube covers, Bikers Choice gaiters, Kuryakyn levers, Alloy Art LED front indicators, Custom Dynamics all-in-one plate holder fender mounted, rear fender re-drilled and welded to lower it, H-D grips and pegs, flush mount cap, Blackline console, rear-strut indicator-holes welded over and smoothed, Arlen Ness under mirrors, Hog Lights LED headlight, headlight cowl, Thunderbike chin spoiler, blacked out most chrome.
Engine itself is currently the stock 103 high output.
The new paint will be a one-of-a-kind and subtle black-on-black; should be finished in two weeks then a day or so for me to re assemble.
It’s my dream to own a bike that can win an award or be featured in a magazine. I know this isn’t the best one around but it has been done on a budget as I work in the lawn-mowing industry and not a FIFO worker.
