Absolute Harley-Davidson Fat Boy
James, a tattoo artist, knew he had the get the ideas out of his head to the painter. Templates were needed.
JAMES ALWAYS wanted a Harley Evolution Fat Boy with a decent rake, and after a year of searching, he finally found his bike in Coffs Harbour and snapped it up. She was a black, standard Harley-Davidson Fat Boy with a fairly decent rake, but had a skinny back-end. James cruised around on it for a few years until he finally decided to bite the bullet and get her a 250 fat arse conversion kit, but he quickly realised to needed to go with some custom wheels as well. He contacted Dragway Performance Engineering and ordered custom wheels to suit the bike.
Once the back-end was on, she was looking sweet—except something was missing. James knew he couldn’t stop there—a total transformation was in the making.
New ideas were coming and the new work started to flow: stretched tanks, custom Burleigh Bars, Dakota Digital Speedo, internal throttle, Vance & Hines big radius exhaust, Mikuni carby, Wimmer spike air cleaner, Fournales shocks, LePera seat, and a detachable custom pillion seat.
Now the Fat Boy was nearing completion and looking mean.
Next was the paint job which was done by Skin by Finn. Being a tattooist, James knew he had to get the design in his head out to Finn, which a lot of his tattoo clients don’t do, so he gave Finn as much reference material as possible, and even did templates of the flame work he wanted. The resulting paint job is awesome.
Finally, the Absolute Harley-Davidson Fat Boy is complete, a total transformation, totally custom and sweet.
